I’ve been using my website to journal for the past few months. Like all crazy people, I’m writing down my thoughts. Thankfully they were mostly rants about life. I have not written a manifesto yet, lol.
The more AI becomes integral to coding, web design, and the internet, the less I have cared. I depend on the web for my passive income. I still play Final Fantasy. I still read my favorite websites. But overall, I’ve disengaged. I didn’t know people with money would weaponize online data for discrimination. I let my coding skills erode because it feels pointless to continue. It is also why I haven’t drawn anything. I have been learning a lot about American History. Learning about true injustice and true criminals (like our current president), the idea of Superheroes seems so silly and pointless.
My youngest son is getting older. Pretty soon they will be going to school. Which means Dad can spend a little time drawing funny stories about his family again. 2026 is going to be a time to repair and rebuild. Not only do my partner and I need to rebuild parts of our house, we need to rebuild our lives. What I mean is that we are parents but the kids are needing us less and less. Our oldest runs around the neighborhood with friends. The youngest goes to the bathroom and dresses themselves. I can continue to show that I love them by memorializing them in my webcomics.
At least drawing is what I hope to do in this next year.
